serendipity

As usual, you try to write one thing, and something else pops into your head. I've extended the first chapter of my anti mlc fic which may be found here. Feedback appreciated.

I've had a reasonable couple of days, creatively-wise speaking. Almost finished the epilogue for What goes around, but the ending just won't gel. I've tried several versions, none of which i'm very happy with. It's just so frustrating when I know it's only a paragraph or two off completion.

And while I remember, I've a question for the technically minded. My browser for some reason has stopped accepting any cookies (lj etc have to log in everytime i switch on, despite asking it to remember me) I haven't touched anything I'm aware of to change it. Firefox tools regarding cookie acceptance is the same as it's always been.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Oooh...

Had a lovely surprise in the post this morning. [info]juniperus sent me some BPAL imps. I have been mostly wearing Mag Mell and sniffing my wrists compulsively all afternoon. I'm looking forward to trying the others - I can see me becoming addicted quite easily.
In other news, my wood burning stove has been connected at long last, so we now have a source of heat in the evenings.

On the beta front, I've had my first ss/hg exchange fic through, which was both unusual and excellent - I think the recipient will be chuffed with it.

Also Sylvanwood's A most Important Element in Water is hotting up - lovely smutty chapter will be up soon.

My own writing is continuing to be rather turgid - just can't seem to get into my stride at all. Even writing drabbles is like pulling teeth. Everything seems like too much of an effort. Hope it passes soon...

Anyone else having trouble with ffnet? Notifications for reviews aren't coming through - and I've checked to see I have notifications enabled, and I have. Favourites and notices of bookmarked stories are appearing in my inbox as normal.

Note to self.

Never start a WIP again without proper planning and making copious notes as you go along.
I am not JK rowling and therefore cannot get away with it.

The fickle muse

Isn't it weird how when you really hate something - in my case the MLC - and it really, really, rankles, you get a plot bunny for a really good story?
The writing really isn't flowing at the moment. I went round to a friend's for lunch yesterday, and while there, scenes and dialogue were whizzing around in my brain. I come home and switch on the computer and... nothing.
I did download a nice business card program for free though. Anyone interested go to giveaway of the day (it's only on offer for 24 hours).
We are also going to be decorating again this week - so time on-line will be limited. I do hope to get the next part of What goes around... finished and off to beta despite that before too long - preferably today.

Saturday already

After going really sticky and humid, the weather seems to be picking up again but is not as insanely hot as it was a few days ago. Something funny's happened to the water, though - it's gone all white - I don't think I want to wash my clothes-or anything else in it.
So, writing. Well, I've done almost 5,000 words for the second chapter of A Mutually Beneficial Arrangement but it's got a bit more plotty than I intended - they just won't shut up and get on with it! Hopefully, I should get a first draft by tomorrow - or as near as damn it anyway.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everybody!

Drabbling

It's amazing what you'll do to avoid writing - even writing something else instead.

What goes around...

I am trying to be good, I really am - even in this heat.

Over 3.500 words of second chapter of smutfic done. I tell you, I'm on a roll

Writing Update

I think I may have been a bit over confident about getting a chapter done by tomorrow. I've got Hermione to his rooms, but they've yet to open the wine, never mind anything else. He's still playing hard to get, I'm afraid.

Pimping... 1 2 3

Despite being completely cream-crackered after all the floor scrubbing (now all done, thank God), I've managed to actually write some more Epiphany (Good job I checked a previous chapter - almost made a glaring error) and knock out a drabble for lj's grangersnape100 community's Nickname challenge.

Sweet Nothings

Started looking through my notes for the next part of 'Epiphany.' God, what a shambles - there's stuff there I'd forgotten all about - and written well before DH, to boot. Since some of it is no longer applicable and not relevant to the plot, I'm tempted to bin a lot of it and think up something else - the basic plot remains the same and very AU now, of course, but a lot of what I've written is very, very old hat. I'm going to have to do a bit of reshuffling as well, after spotting a big plot hole, but that shouldn't take too long. it's just a question of finding the enthusiasm and diving in...

Talking of which, it's raining. Why am I surprised?
